Our rowers. swept their races and while our coxswains may have lacked speed, they more than made up for it with enthusiasm, style. We have completed our last home race. It was fun but it is always a little bit sad as our seniors realize their years at Andover. The fact that they have survived four years at Andover is a testament to their ability and persistence. The fact. that they have completed four years of Andover Crew is a testament to their passion. Their colleges are lucky to have these young people joining. For our G4, G5, B4, B5 B6 we will race at Hanover New Hampshire this coming Saturday May 2. Hanover, Tabor Hingham 4th, 5th 6th Boats 1. We had a fantastic day today racing our 4th to 6th boats with Hanover High, Tabor and Hingham in Hanover NH. They punched a 3 hour hole in a soaking storm to allow our boats to rush down the river. Pauls and new friends from Glastonbury. Pauls girls, coming off a 1. Kent the previous week, probably expected an easy day. Our girls showed their improving speed and made them fight for ever. Our boys won every race with St. Pauls and Glastonbury. The world and his wife came out to support the three teams. The day was extra special for us as an Andover boat crossed the line first in every race. We had a total. of nine races with 1. NMH, BC High and Belmont races April 2. It was a cool day with a slight head wind. We always want to put as many rowers on the water for race day as we can. A great start to the day. Andover and BC High fought each other for every meter of water all the way to. BC Highs scrapping out a 0. Belmont Hill. Next the boy. The tension was rising as we worked up the boat rankings. G1 crossed the line with a boat length of open water. Next up was the B1 race. This was out of order to allow NMH to hot seat one of the rowers. All in all. a good day of racing. They promised a dry 5. The numerical difference is small. There was a light headwind and slightly rough water. All four girls boats won by open water. Back to Top. Salisbury and Brookline Races April 8th 2. So we survived our first races on the Merrimack. These conditions created a challenge especially. These rowers train hard all week to race for 3. We have had Interschols results where the difference has been tenths of a second. Salisbury in recent years have had navy PGs. Last year they won the New England Championships aka Interschols. As they came into. Salisbury were ahead but our B1 was still fighting hard. Salisbury took the race by a length. Andover and we were a good couple of lengths over Brookline. The B2 race followed the same format with. Salisbury winning and Andover coming in well ahead of Brookline. The B3 race change the routine with B3. Brookline and Salisbury coming in well behind. This was a battle to the end with Brookline. B4 with our B5 coming in behind both of them.
